31DC2013 DAY 29: THE SUPERNATURAL / Día 29: Lo Sobrenatural

I skipped Day 28 because I wanted to show this in time for Halloween, these are The Gentlemen from, probably the best episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Hush.

According to Buffy Wikia: The Gentlemen were a group of demons that roamed from town to town, seeking out seven human hearts they require to stay alive.

This episode is awesome, almost the entire time is silent because the demons steals the voices of the humans so they cannot scream while they ripped their hearts.

I'm a nerd I know haha, anyway the polishes are: China Glaze Liquid Leather, NYX Frizzy Spots, Wet n' Wild Fantasy Makers in Rouge and the details are acrylic paint.

31DC2013 DAY 27: ARTWORK / Día 27: Obra de Arte

Since I won't have time to do Halloween nail art I think this will count as one ;) It's based on the Tara McPherson artwork (which I'm a big fan of), and specially on her book Lost Constellations Vol. 2.

So, this is my little tribute to one of my favorite illustrators and I hope I did her a little justice and I say that it's Halloween themed because of the skulls, the bleeding heart and the little vampire boy, oh well!... ok... the balloons are not scary at all! he he

31DC2013 DAY 26: PATTERN / Día 26: Patrón

Hi, it's been a while I know but I'm fostering 3 kittens and they are a handful, anyway I will continue with this challenge, this time pattern, I like plaid pattern quite a lot in any form or color specially in flannel shirts.

I wanted to make plaid with unusual colors and went for yellow and grey, when I finished I thought it lacked something just a color to pop, that's why I added pink last minute. I'm very pleased with the results and the best of all is that it is very easy to achieve with tape.

31DC2013 DAY 25: INSPIRED BY FASHION / Día 25: Inspirado por la Moda

I'm not a fashion connoisseur at all but I try to take a peek at Fashion Weeks just to know how the collections look like. This time Spring/Summer collections are not that springy because black and white are the predominant colors for almost all brands.

I particularly liked this Alexander McQueen collection from Paris Fashion Week, I know is not very wearable but the color combo of black, white and red is my favorite of all time, and the patterns are beautiful, that coat is just to die for!!

31DC2013 DAY 24: INSPIRED BY A BOOK / Día 24: Inspirado por un Libro

The Martian Chronicles is a Ray Bradbury book and it's fantastic, they are short stories that tell us the arrival of men on Mars after the earth is being destroyed and unfit to live in, obviously the martians are not very happy with it and the consequent colonization.
Even though is a sci-fi themed book it explores and shows human nature and how, we humans, can be a real pain in the ass no matter where we go.

My spanish version book cover is not very pretty so I searched for one and this was what I liked the most, I love the color combo.

31DC2013 DAY 23: INSPIRED BY A MOVIE / Día 23: Inspirado por una Película

Sorry, I know this challenge it's over but I've been overwhelmed with work and have very little spare time but I will continue until I finish, although I don't know when. This is my first challenge and if I don't go all the way, my pride will hurt ;) 

From now on, I will try (when it fits) to do Halloween related stuff along with the themes of the challenge because I looove Halloween and I don't know if I will be able to do some before it comes, it's just around the corner!

Then, I was thinking about doing one of my favorite movies of all time: Young Frankenstein but I failed terrible, making faces in a tiny nail is sooo difficult, that's why I have so much respect for Robin Moses, watch her YT channel, she is amazing! hope some day I can do nail art like that so... I have to practice, practice practice.

31DC2013 DAY 22: INSPIRED BY A SONG / Día 22: Inspirado por una Canción

One of my favorite bands ever is Beastie Boys, I would keep going on and on about why I love them for life but I'll just say that they make me very happy.

'Sabotage' was the first song that I heard or, better said, the first video of them that I saw and by the time it ended my head was blown, it was directed by Spike Jonze (Where the Wild Things Are) and became an instant classic. The characters are an icon and I think everyone who is into music recognize them, that's why I wanted to paint them, searching for images I found a wallpaper with a very simple abstraction that worked very good for nails.

31DC2013 DAY 21: INSPIRED BY A COLOR / Día 21: Inspirado por un Color

It wasn't hard to choose the color which inspire me, this is one of the most beautiful polish that I have: American Apparel Peacock, a creamy dark teal perfectly opaque, this is only one coat.

I didn't want to go for the usual peacock so I made an abstract one with leaf shapes that look like feathers as well with a golden stud that look like the peacock body. For the other fingers I just made golden accent with a brush and a glitter gradient.

I really like it, it has a autumny feeling with all the dark colors.

31DC2013 DAY 20: WATER MARBLE / Día 20: Marmoleado

Well, what can I say? I think a good amount of us hate water marble, and I tip my hat to those who have mastered it because it's reeeeally difficult.

For me, Simple Little Pleasures YouTube channel is the best out there, she is a real boss, I mean... she can even water marble with matte an holographic polishes! so I watched it over and over again to catch some tips but I learned some others along the way:
